Louis Vuitton – always travelling in style

Few high-fashion brands are as authentically entwined with luxury travel as Louis Vuitton and their AW/12 campaign and catwalk show emphasised that relationship beautifully.

For their Paris show back in March, the fashion house used a full-sized, custom-designed steam train with Louis Vuitton lettering down the side. Tracks, a huge station clock and pale white steam filling the dark space added to the drama.

The same train was used to shoot the Autumn/Winter 2012 advertising campaign. Using the interior this time, models sat prettily and perfectly preened inside its carriage. A scene which evoked the elegance of train travel’s golden age.
