Our stay of the week – Mykonos Blu, Greece

Heaven and earth combine in high-end fashion at the irresistible Mykonos Blu. After a major renovation, this five-star retreat boasts chic pared-back interiors, a two-tiered infinity pool overlooking the stunning Psarou beach below, plus a host of lounges and terraces that make the most of the hotel’s best asset: the cracker of a view. Built into a hillside, this hotel’s architecture is perhaps its most impressive draw, as it beautifully reflects and contrasts against the dazzling turquoise waters below.

Designed in a sleek, modern minimalist style, the accommodation here features whitewashed walls, soft beds surrounded by romantic cotton voile curtains, a nod to traditional Cycladic style with accents of blue, and an en-suite bathroom with polished stone shower. The views from each bungalow and apartment are always utterly relaxing, and for the most part feature the glistening sea. Speaking of relaxing – the on-site Elixir Spa makes the perfect antidote to a night of island partying, and offers a full menu of massages and luxury beauty treatments to send you into a blissful oblivion.

You’ll find much to please on the dining front, too: the Aegean Poets restaurant serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine – perfect for a mezze sundowner – while the contemporary brasserie, L’Archipel, offers breakfast until 6pm for those taking laid-back island life seriously. In the evening, follow the winding steps down to Psarou beach and pull up a chair at the bar for drinks with a setting you’d be hard-pressed to beat.

Offering the ultimate trifecta of beauty, history and culture, Mykonos is the jewel in the crown of the Cyclades Islands. Loved by international jet-setters and locals alike, traditional whitewashed buildings, windmills and picturesque harbours serve the perfect backdrop to your Aegean adventure – it’s no wonder the likes of Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly made this postcard-perfect island their playground in the swinging 60s.

We’re offering a stay in an Island Side Sea View bungalow or Deluxe Island bungalow from £100 per person, per night, including breakfast and plenty of perks.
